SRL: Flexible Use of Strategies

Successful learners are able to implement multiple learning strategies across tasks and adjust those strategies as needed to facilitate their progress towards their desired goals (Paris & Paris, 2001)

Teachers can help by identifying strategies and teaching students’ ways to self-regulate. The more strategies students know the more likely they are to find one that works best for them. I also need to identify SRL strategies so that I can become more familiar with each practice before attempting to teach them. This is the underlying goal of my blog and development during this course.
