What sets self-regulated learners apart from their peers is that these students not only seek advice from others, but they do so with the goal of making themselves more autonomous (Ryan et al., 2001)
As a teacher, I must know the finer points of these strategies so that I am able to provide ongoing feedback for student improvement. Zumburnn et al. (2011) suggest that after providing feedback you can allow students to resubmit assignments with appropriate changes after providing feedback.
This resource helps define Help-Seeking, and how it relates to academics, classroom, and student behaviours. It also helps teachers relate clues from these behaviours.
